Leslie was volunteered into making a pile of
bagels with cream cheese and bacon.
These bagels can be consumed for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so they are perfect for a
1000-mile
musher who does not know anymore if it's day or night.
I guess I will really hate bagels after the Quest.

foreground some sliced meat,
ready to be packed into feeding sized portions.

While watching movies I prepared some of my
gear in the living room.
Here you see already sorted by checkpoint:
matches, batteries for headlamps, camera, GPS and small headlamps,
two kinds of foot ointment, foot powder, spare gloves (2 kinds), garbage bags,
heat packs, dog food supplements and - actually that's it.

The drop bags all ready to go: After a long
night with little sleep I had my 35 bags packed and ready
to be shipped. In these bags are 7 different kinds of meat, kibble, all my small
gear items
(shown on previous picture), spare clothing, runner plastic (10 sets), dog coats
and belly blanketts.
All 35 bags have my name and the destination checkpoint on both sides, as well as a
tag listing all contents.
During the race I carry a list of the contents of each bag so that I know what
items I have in each checkpoint and each bag.
