Just before the Tanana River bridge on the
Alaska Highway near Tok.
This is one of my favorite spots to drop dogs.
I had finally managed to wash the truck before we left Whitehorse! Photo by
DH.

DH is packing up. Due to the
"meat-unfriendly" border we had to buy dog food in Alaska
and pack the race supplies in this scenic industrial yard rather than in the
comforts of home.

This is me packing. I was not aware that I was doing some sort of weird break-dance. Photo by DH.

Maggie (left) and Jack, my leaders of many
years, even though they are only 4, just before the start.
They are looking down the starting chute after some teams.
In the back am I bringing up another dog to the gangline. Photo by DH.

A couple of teams run along the Copper River
with Mount Sanford in the background.
The Copper Basin offers spectacular scenery. Photo by DH.

On the old Eagle trail near Gakona Lodge.

Mushing along the Alyeska Pipeline in a moonless night.

56 below (70 below Fahrenheit) in my dog yard
on January 12.
Now this is cold. I would have been happy about 40 below that day!
